Platinum's Souhitsu range of fude brush pens are designed by Platinum in conjunction with Souun Takeda, one of the most famous calligraphers in Japan. Souun has earned a reputation for trying new approaches to calligraphy, while respecting the traditional ways.
He has won awards for his work, including the Longhuacui Art Award from Shanghai Art Museum, and the Constanza Medici Award in Firenze, Italy. Although he has now worked for some of the world's largest companies, Souun began his calligraphy career as a live performer on the streets and subways of Tokyo. His calligraphy events have included work for Belgian royalty, Madonna, TV shows, and even the Fuji Rock Festival.
Platinum Fude Brush Pen CFS-250. The intricately-made tip is softer close to the end, and firmer towards the back, allowing for better control. It's also designed to give more ink flow at the tip than further back, making solid black strokes, shading expressively further from the tip, like a real brush.
Unusual beige barrel, designed to resemble traditional Japanese bamboo brushes. Japanese lettering in red, with black cap. Developed with famous Japanese calligrapher Souun Takeda.
