Armada - pale blue-grey, to signify the colour of warships
Carlos - emerald green, named for former Filipino president Carlos P Garcia
Hanan - sunrise yellow, to represent the Goddess of Morning in Philippine mythology
Karnival - summer green, to mark the Manila Carnival, an annual event that began in 1908
Leyte - sea kelp green, named for the municipality where it is produced
La Paz - bronze yellow, to signify the only desert in the Philippines
La Union - wine red, to represent the La Union vineyard
Maskara - pale violet, named for the Maskara Festival
Perya - pale blue, the colour of the candy floss sold in Rizal Park in Manila
Sirena - mint green, to represent the mermaid featured in the Filipino comic Dyesebel
Damili - this represents the terracotta damili, or moulding, carried out in Vigan, Ilocus Sur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the northern Philippines
Fortaleza - ochre, to represent the Miago-ao Church in Iloilo which was constructed in 1797 from - among other things - eggs and limestone
Kayangan - emerald, named for the clear green waters of Kayangan Lake which was declared a National Reserve in 1967
Ubi - mulberry, to represent the purple yam, a major food crop of the Philippines.
