Montblanc's Around the World in 80 Days collection celebrates the classic adventure story by Jules Verne, which charted the epic journey undertaken by Phileas Fogg and his trusty sidekick, Passepartout.
The Meisterstuck Solitaire LeGrand is made from black stained wood and features intricately engraved artwork which symbolises good luck. The selection of wood for the material is definitely an interesting one and is inspired by the section of the novel where Princess Aouda is saved by Mr. Fogg from being forced to commit suttee.
Part of the second edition of Around the World in 80 Days themed writing instruments, this collection focuses on the second part of the journey where the main characters travel on Kiouni, the magnificent elephant which features in a cartouche on the cap. The clip displays a lacquered red diamond card suit and the cone is engraved with a dotted pattern and card suits. The cap is embossed with 25, symbolising the length of the second part of the journey from Bombay to Yokohama.
Fitted with a hand-crafted 18-carat gold nib inscribed with the famous hot air balloon and the journey's start and end dates. Refill with Montblanc ink cartridges, or fit the supplied converter to use bottled ink. Supplied in a smart gift box.
